Impossible Project

In this project we are too trying to recreate one of Erik Johansson work as our own. In the first image I cropped out Steven's head from a picture I took. I also touched up some of his face to make his skin look more smooth. I then brought in the boardwalk and got rid everything so only the actually boardwalk remained. The space background is actually two images put together. I originally wanted to just have the nebula as the background, but Steven's head would block off most of it. To get the water walls, I used the polygonal lasso tool to cut the water at an angle to make it appear more as a wall. The fire took some time to do. I first used the quick select tool to select the majority of the fire, but it kept a lot of the edges. So I manually erased the background and shaped it to look more like hair. I also had to colour some of the tips to make it fit in more. The bird, fish, spirals, etc. were all done the same way with me just using the quick select tool to get rid of the background. After all that  I played with the saturation, lighting, sharpness, and more to get the final product.

I made this image in my spare time when I got bored with some of the other projects. To make this I simply got rid of the background using the quick select tool for most of the images. I had to manually touch up the lava because the quick select tool couldn't get in the fine area's in between some of the splurs. With the grass background I rotated it to try to give the image some movement and to make the the viewer think about it more. I finally played with the saturation, lighting, sharpness, and more once again to finalize the image.
